The Buddha teaches on stream-entry regarding factors, explaining the four factors of a noble disciple and the qualities that ensure liberation from loss and rebirth in heaven.
“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, sotāpattiyaṅgāni. Katamāni cattāri? Sappurisasaṁsevo, saddhammassavanaṁ, yonisomanasikāro, dhammānudhammappaṭipatti— imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri sotāpattiyaṅgānī”ti.
Dasamaṁ.
Sagāthakapuññābhisandavaggo pañcamo.
Tassuddānaṁ
Abhisandā tayo vuttā,
Duve mahaddhanena ca;
Suddhaṁ nandiyaṁ bhaddiyaṁ,
Mahānāmaṅgena te dasāti.

Katamāni cattāri?
What four?
Sappurisasaṁsevo, saddhammassavanaṁ, yonisomanasikāro, dhammānudhammappaṭipatti—
Associating with true persons, listening to the true teaching, rational application of mind, and practicing in line with the teaching.
imāni kho, bhikkhave, cattāri sotāpattiyaṅgānī”ti.
These are the four factors for stream-entry.”
