The Buddha shares the benefits of harmony within the Saṅgha.

ITI 19  Saṅghasāmaggī sutta - Harmony in the Saṅgha

Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:

This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, as I have heard:

“Ekadhammo, bhikkhave, loke uppajjamāno uppajjati bahujanahitāya bahujanasukhāya bahuno janassa atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussānaṁ. Katamo ekadhammo? Saṅghasāmaggī. Saṅghe kho pana, bhikkhave, samagge na ceva aññamaññaṁ bhaṇḍanāni honti, na ca aññamaññaṁ paribhāsā honti, na ca aññamaññaṁ parikkhepā honti, na ca aññamaññaṁ pariccajanā honti. Tattha appasannā ceva pasīdanti, pasannānañca bhiyyobhāvo hotī”ti.

“Bhikkhus, one thing arising in the world arises |for the benefit of many people::that brings well-being, advantage, and good outcomes for many [bahujanahitāya]|, |for the happiness of many people::leads to joy, ease, and comfort for many [bahujanasukhāya]|, |for the welfare::for the purpose [atthāya]|, |benefit::good of, welfare of [hitāya]| and |ease::comfort, contentedness, happiness [sukhāya]| of both gods and humans. What is this one thing? |Harmony in the Saṅgha::concord within the community [saṅghasāmaggī]|. When the Saṅgha is unified, |bhikkhus,::::,| there are no mutual quarrels, no mutual abuse, no mutual exclusion, and no mutual rejection. In such a situation, those |without faith::who lack confidence; lit. not settled [appasannā]| develop faith, and the faith of those who have it increases.”

Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:

The Blessed One spoke on this matter. In this regard, it is said:

“Sukhā saṅghassa sāmaggī,
samaggānañcanuggaho;
Samaggarato dhammaṭṭho,
yogakkhemā na dhaṁsati;
Saṅghaṁ samaggaṁ katvāna,
kappaṁ saggamhi modatī”ti.

“Happy is harmony in the Saṅgha,
and supporting the unified brings further joy.
One who enjoys unity, firmly established in the |Dhamma::teachings of the Buddha that point to the nature of reality, the ultimate truth [dhamma]|,
does not fall away from supreme security.
Having unified the Saṅgha,
that one rejoices in heaven for an |aeon::lifespan of a world system, a vast cosmic time span [kappa]|.”

Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.

This matter too was spoken by the Blessed One, as I have heard.
