The Buddha describes the seven bad qualities.

AN 7.93 Bad Qualities

“Sattime, bhikkhave, asaddhammā. Katame satta? Assaddho hoti, ahiriko hoti, anottappī hoti, appassuto hoti, kusīto hoti, muṭṭhassati hoti, duppañño hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, satta asaddhammā”ti.

“Sattime, bhikkhave, asaddhammā.

“Mendicants, there are these seven bad qualities.

Katame satta?

What seven?

Assaddho hoti, ahiriko hoti, anottappī hoti, appassuto hoti, kusīto hoti, muṭṭhassati hoti, duppañño hoti.

Someone is faithless, shameless, imprudent, unlearned, lazy, unmindful, and witless.

Ime kho, bhikkhave, satta asaddhammā”ti.

These are the seven bad qualities.”

Confidence in the Buddha's awakening and the efficacy of the path. It brightens and steadies the mind, removing doubt and inspiring energy toward wholesome practice. True faith rests on clarity and direct experience rather than mere belief.
