The Buddha teaches that ten things should be developed for insight into and the complete ending of greed, hate, delusion, and other unwholesome qualities.

“Rāgassa, bhikkhave, abhiññāya dasa dhammā bhāvetabbā. Katame dasa? Sammādiṭṭhi, sammāsaṅkappo, sammāvācā, sammākammanto, sammāājīvo, sammāvāyāmo, sammāsati, sammāsamādhi, sammāñāṇaṁ, sammāvimutti— rāgassa, bhikkhave, abhiññāya ime dasa dhammā bhāvetabbā”ti.

“For insight into greed, ten things should be developed.

Katame dasa?

What ten?

Sammādiṭṭhi, sammāsaṅkappo, sammāvācā, sammākammanto, sammāājīvo, sammāvāyāmo, sammāsati, sammāsamādhi, sammāñāṇaṁ, sammāvimutti—

Right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right immersion, right knowledge, and right freedom.

rāgassa, bhikkhave, abhiññāya ime dasa dhammā bhāvetabbā”ti.

For insight into greed, these ten things should be developed.”
