The Word of the Buddha Contentment
The Word of the BuddhaGradual Development of the Eightfold Path
MN 27 ¶39
He is content with robes to cover the body and alms food to sustain the belly. Wherever he goes, he goes with what he has. Just as a bird flies wherever it goes with its wings as its only burden, so too the bhikkhu is content with robes to cover the body and alms food to sustain the belly. Wherever he goes, he goes with what he has. Endowed with this noble aggregate of virtue, he personally experiences blameless happiness within.
