“Pañcime, bhikkhave, sosānikā. Katame pañca? Mandattā momūhattā sosāniko hoti …pe… idamatthitaṁyeva nissāya sosāniko hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca sosānikā”ti.
Catutthaṁ.
The Buddha teaches on charnel ground dwellers, presenting a fivefold teaching for disciples on the path.
“Pañcime, bhikkhave, sosānikā. Katame pañca? Mandattā momūhattā sosāniko hoti …pe… idamatthitaṁyeva nissāya sosāniko hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca sosānikā”ti.
Catutthaṁ.
Reference Translation by Bhikkhu Sujato (CC0).
“Pañcime, bhikkhave, sosānikā.
“Mendicants, these five dwell in a charnel ground.
Katame pañca?
What five?
Mandattā momūhattā sosāniko hoti …pe… idamatthitaṁyeva nissāya sosāniko hoti.
One may dwell in a charnel ground because of stupidity … corrupt wishes … madness … because it is praised by the Buddhas … or for the sake of having few wishes …
Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca sosānikā”ti.
These are the five who dwell in a charnel ground.”
Catutthaṁ.
