“Pañcime, bhikkhave, paṁsukūlikā. Katame pañca? Mandattā momūhattā paṁsukūliko hoti …pe… idamatthitaṁyeva nissāya paṁsukūliko hoti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca paṁsukūlikā”ti.

The Buddha teaches on robes, presenting a fivefold teaching for disciples on the path.

“Mendicants, these five wear rag robes.
Katame pañca?
What five?
Mandattā momūhattā paṁsukūliko hoti …pe… idamatthitaṁyeva nissāya paṁsukūliko hoti.
One may wear rag robes because of stupidity … corrupt wishes … madness … because it is praised by the Buddhas … or for the sake of having few wishes …
Ime kho, bhikkhave, pañca paṁsukūlikā”ti.
These are the five who wear rag robes.”
