The Buddha describes the ten universal dimensions of meditation—on earth, water, fire, air, blue, yellow, red, white, space, and consciousness—perceived as undivided and limitless.

AN 10.25 Meditation on Universals

“Dasayimāni, bhikkhave, kasiṇāyatanāni. Katamāni dasa? Pathavīkasiṇameko sañjānāti uddhaṁ adho tiriyaṁ advayaṁ appamāṇaṁ; āpokasiṇameko sañjānāti …pe… tejokasiṇameko sañjānātivāyokasiṇameko sañjānātinīlakasiṇameko sañjānātipītakasiṇameko sañjānātilohitakasiṇameko sañjānātiodātakasiṇameko sañjānātiākāsakasiṇameko sañjānātiviññāṇakasiṇameko sañjānāti uddhaṁ adho tiriyaṁ advayaṁ appamāṇaṁ. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, dasa kasiṇāyatanānī”ti.

Someone perceives the meditation on universal earth above, below, across, undivided and limitless.

They perceive the meditation on universal water …

tejokasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal fire …

vāyokasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal air …

nīlakasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal blue …

pītakasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal yellow …

lohitakasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal red …

odātakasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal white …

ākāsakasiṇameko sañjānāti

the meditation on universal space …

They perceive the meditation on universal consciousness above, below, across, undivided and limitless.
