The Buddha teaches on the five spiritual faculties regarding plain version, guiding mendicants in developing faith through wisdom on the path to liberation.

SN 48.25 Plain Version

“Chayimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. Katamāni cha? Cakkhundriyaṁ, sotindriyaṁ, ghānindriyaṁ, jivhindriyaṁ, kāyindriyaṁ, manindriyaṁ imāni kho, bhikkhave, cha indriyānī”ti.

“Chayimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni.

“Mendicants, there are these six faculties.

Katamāni cha?

What six?

Cakkhundriyaṁ, sotindriyaṁ, ghānindriyaṁ, jivhindriyaṁ, kāyindriyaṁ, manindriyaṁ

The faculties of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind.

imāni kho, bhikkhave, cha indriyānī”ti.

These are the six faculties.”
