The Buddha teaches the mendicants about the gods of the thundercloud host—those of cool, warm, stormy, windy, and rainy thunderclouds.
Sāvatthinidānaṁ.
“Valāhakakāyike vo, bhikkhave, deve desessāmi. Taṁ suṇātha.
Katame ca, bhikkhave, valāhakakāyikā devā? Santi, bhikkhave, sītavalāhakā devā; santi uṇhavalāhakā devā; santi abbhavalāhakā devā; santi vātavalāhakā devā; santi vassavalāhakā devā— ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, ‘valāhakakāyikā devā’”ti.

And what are the gods of the thundercloud host?
Santi, bhikkhave, sītavalāhakā devā;
There are gods of the cool thunderclouds,
santi uṇhavalāhakā devā;
warm thunderclouds,
santi abbhavalāhakā devā;
stormy thunderclouds,
santi vātavalāhakā devā;
windy thunderclouds,
santi vassavalāhakā devā—
and rainy thunderclouds.
ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, ‘valāhakakāyikā devā’”ti.
These are called gods of the thundercloud host.”
