“idhāhaṁ, āvuso, ākiñcaññāyatanaṁ samatikkamma nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṁ upasampajja viharāmi …pe… vuṭṭhitoti vā”ti.
Aṭṭhamaṁ.
Venerable Sāriputta tells Ānanda that in private retreat he entered and remained in the dimension of neither perception nor non-perception by going totally beyond the dimension of nothingness, explaining how his faculties grew clear and his complexion bright through that meditation.
