• quest — finds “quest” (fuzzy)
• ^SN or ^AN — only in that collection (e.g. SN, AN, MN, DHP)
• !word — exclude discourses containing word
• 'sammāsati or "sammāsati" — exact whole word, diacritic-exact (matches “sammāsati”, not “sammasati” or “sammāsatima”)
• "letting go" — exact phrase (each word exact)
• illusion | ignorance — either word
• akuppa cetovimutti or animmita — Pali terms (fuzzy)

Combining

• ^SN consciousness — SN discourses that mention consciousness
• !^DHP — all collections except DHP
• ^AN urgency !mindfulness — AN discourses with “urgency” and without “mindfulness”

By field (advanced)

Restrict to title or body: title:..., content:...

• title:element content:consciousness — title contains “element”, body contains “consciousness”
• title:element (content:space | content:consciousness) — title “element”, body has “space” or “consciousness”

PTS citations

Look up a discourse by Pali Text Society volume/page. Use a pts: (or volpage: / leading PTS) prefix so ordinary searches are not affected.

• pts:AN V. 91 — Anguttara volume V, page 91 (covers mid-sutta pages too)
• pts:MN 2 or pts:MN ii — all discourses in that PTS volume
• pts:SN V 31 or volpage:SN ii 4 — Samyutta citations
• pts:SN 1.3, pts:SN 1 1.3, or pts:SN 1. 1. 3 — SN volume 1, page 3 (the PTS 1.3 label, not sutta SN 1.3)
• PTS 4.152 — numeric volume.page (may match more than one nikāya)
