MN 100 Saṅgārava sutta - With Saṅgārava

The young brahmin Saṅgārava asks the Buddha about teachers who claim the basis of the spiritual life through oral tradition, reasoning, or direct personal realization. The Buddha recounts his own ascetic strivings, attainment of the jhānas, and realization of the three true knowledges, before clarifying his experiential understanding of the gods.
