AN 7.47 Dutiyaaggi sutta - Fires (2nd)Ref

The Buddha tells the brahmin Uggatasarīra, prompted by Venerable Ānanda, that preparing an animal sacrifice raises three unskillful knives of body, speech, and mind, and that the fires of greed, hate, and delusion should be shunned while one tends the fires of parents, family, and ascetics, putting out the wood fire from time to time.
