Nandiya the Sakyan

1 discourse
The Sakyan householder who asked the busy man's question: how should a family man hemmed in by work practice? He received eleven supports, the six strengths and the five recollections (AN 11.13), and the four factors of stream-entry that free a noble disciple from loss (SN 55.40, SN 55.47).

AN 11.13 Nandiya sutta - With Nandiya

When Nandiya the Sakyan asks how busy householders should practice, the Buddha outlines eleven qualities: six foundational spiritual strengths and five internal recollections. Grounded in these, a noble disciple purges all unwholesome states like an overturned pot spilling its water.
