Keṇiya Jaṭilaperson

The brahmin teacher Keṇiya prepares a grand feast and the Buddha teaches him and the brahmin Sela, who recognises the thirty-two marks and—with his two hundred fifty pupils—goes forth under the Buddha.

Verses recounting the Buddha's going forth, his encounter with King Bimbisāra, and his teaching on the drawbacks of sensual pleasures and the security of the renunciate life.
