DN 21 Sakkapañha sutta - The Questions of Sakka

Sakka, the king of the gods, visits the Buddha at Indra’s Hill Cave accompanied by the gandhabba musician Pañcasikha. Sakka questions the Buddha on the root causes of conflict, hostility, jealousy, and stinginess, tracing them back through preference, desire, reflection, and mental proliferation (papañca). The Buddha explains how the contemplation of felt experience and sense restraint lead to the ending of proliferation, leading Sakka and eighty thousand deities to attain stream-entry.
