Deity Susimaperson

The Buddha asks Ānanda whether he endorses Sāriputta; when Ānanda praises Sāriputta's wisdom and qualities, a young deity Susīma endorses him too, and the Buddha approves.

The Buddha recounts Sakka urging the negligent godling Suvīra into battle, showing through verse that happiness without effort is impossible and praising initiative and energy for mendicants on the path.
