“Cattārome, bhikkhave, thūpārahā. Katame cattāro? Tathāgato arahaṁ sammāsambuddho thūpāraho, paccekabuddho thūpāraho, tathāgatasāvako thūpāraho, rājā cakkavattī thūpāraho— Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro thūpārahā”ti.

The Buddha teaches on worthy of a monument, presenting a fourfold teaching for disciples on the path.

“Cattārome, bhikkhave, thūpārahā.
“Mendicants, these four are worthy of a monument.
Katame cattāro?
What four?
Tathāgato arahaṁ sammāsambuddho thūpāraho, paccekabuddho thūpāraho, tathāgatasāvako thūpāraho, rājā cakkavattī thūpāraho—
A Realized One, a perfected one, a fully awakened Buddha; an Independent Buddha; a disciple of a Realized One; and a wheel-turning monarch.
Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro thūpārahā”ti.
These four are worthy of a monument.”
